Reports To: Talent Acquisition Manager

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)

Position Type: Full Time

 

About Us:

The Orthodox Union (OU) is the largest Orthodox Jewish organization in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for the disabled, localized religious study programs, and international units. The OU maintains a kosher certification service, whose circled U symbol, Ⓤ, is found on the labels of many kosher commercial and consumer food products.

 

Position Overview:

The HR Talent Acquisition Associate plays a crucial role in the Orthodox Union's mission in two major aspects; 1) supporting the Talent Acquisition Manager in sourcing, recruiting, and hiring exceptional talent to drive our organization forward. 2) serving as a strategic partner to all operating and programmatic departments to serve as a resource and subject matter expert in the recruitment and selection process. The HR Talent Acquisition Associate will also support other areas of HR as needed, including; onboarding, people analytics, benefits, attendance and talent development. Please note, this position is not open to be fully remote.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Candidate Sourcing: Utilize various channels such as job boards, social media, networking events, and internal referrals to actively source and attract qualified candidates.
  • Screening and Qualification: Review resumes, conduct initial screenings, and assess candidate qualifications against job requirements to identify top talent for further consideration.
  • Interview Coordination: Schedule and coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers, ensuring a smooth and timely interview process.
  • Candidate Communication: Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process, providing updates and guidance as needed.
  • Applicant Tracking: Utilizing our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), JobVite, track and communicate with candidates as well as ensure proper storing of candidate information in CRM system.
  • Support Talent Acquisition Manager: Assist the Talent Acquisition Manager in various recruitment-related tasks and projects as needed.

 

 

 

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Employee Onboarding: Issuing offer letters and engaging with hiring managers, soon-to-be employees and relevant departments to ensure the smooth onboarding of new employees.
  • Benefits: Assisting employees register for benefits during the open enrollment period
  • Talent Development: Assisting in facilitating employee trainings and the annual performance review/goal setting.
  • People Analytics: Assist in various data projects; perform data entry and review and run reports through our HRIS system, Namely.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Education in I/O Psychology, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in recruitment or talent acquisition.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with candidates and stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • In-depth knowledge of Jewish culture and law.
  • Ability to travel (less than 15% and mainly within the tri-state area)

 

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is between $50,000 and $65,000, commensurate with experience.
