The Orthodox Union (OU) is the largest Orthodox Jewish organization in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for the disabled, localized religious study programs, and international units. The OU maintains a kosher certification service, whose circled U symbol is found on the labels of many kosher commercial and consumer food products.
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Creative Strategist / Creative Lead to oversee the execution of major creative projects and contribute to high-level strategic direction. This role requires a blend of creative leadership, content development expertise, and project execution to ensure all branding, storytelling, and campaign materials align with the organization's goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in content strategy, branding, and creative development, with the ability to manage and mentor a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the execution of major creative and branding initiatives, ensuring they align with organizational objectives and brand guidelines.
Oversee and manage the creative development process across multiple mediums, including video, digital, print, and social media.
Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement a content and creative strategy that enhances engagement and brand awareness.
Serve as a strategic thought partner, providing input on branding, messaging, and campaign direction.
Manage and mentor mid-level creative staff, including the Assistant Creative Director, and Creative Coordinator.
Ensure consistency in brand voice, design standards, and creative output across all platforms.
Work closely with internal teams, external vendors, and freelancers to deliver high-quality creative assets.
Stay current on creative and marketing trends to ensure innovative and impactful campaigns.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in design, Marketing, Communications, or a related field or comparable experience.
5+ years of experience in creative strategy, branding, or content development.
Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills, with experience managing a creative team.
Expertise in storytelling, design principles, and visual communication.
Ability to balance big-picture strategy with hands-on creative execution.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, content management systems, and project management tools.
Strong communication skills and the ability to present ideas effectively.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000, commensurate with experience.
