Fundraising Professional Learning Director  

The Institutional Advancement Department of the Orthodox Union endeavors to become a center for professional learning and best practices in fundraising both internally to the OU and within the Orthodox Jewish Community. Reporting to the Director of Donor Services and working closely with the Director of Principal Gifts and the OU HR Department, the Professional Learning Director will be responsible for heading up the initiatives in the Institutional Advancement Department that relate to achieving this goal. Specifically, the Professional Learning Director will be responsible for 3 main portfolios of projects.  

1. Develop, coordinate, and or deliver fundraising professional development opportunities for OU Fundraisers. This should include opportunities focused on professionals at different points in their careers. To include but not limited to:  

a. Mentoring program 

b. Formal on ongoing courses  

2. Develop and run a fellowship program for recent college graduates interested in entering the profession of fundraising. This will include: 

a. Developing a curriculum 

b. Recruiting candidates 

c. Advising fellows throughout the year 

d. Recruiting and working with mentors 

e. Securing placement opportunities for post fellowship  

3. Plan and run a professional development conference. In year 1, this conference will be focused on OU Staff with a possibility of opening one day of the training to other organizations. Within 18 months the Professional Learning Director, in conjunction with the Institutional Advancement Leadership team, will host a professional fundraising conference open to all outside Jewish organization with a focus on Orthodox organizations. In subsequent years the goal will be to grow the conference in both size and reputation.

(Salary Range- $130,000-$150,000)
