The mission of the Orthodox Union is to engage, strengthen and lead the Orthodox Jewish Community, and inspire the greater Jewish community. The Orthodox Union runs the largest kosher certification in the world as well as community enriching programs such as NCSY, Yachad, JLIC, and OU Advocacy. This full time position is responsible for performing various day-to-day functions and assisting the controller with the reconciliation and analysis of the Orthodox Union’s financial accounts.


• Monthly Bank Reconciliations
• Monthly review of external division’s financial activity
• Analyzing book sales and calculating commissions due
• Preparation of external and internal billing
• Maintaining an up to date schedule of tuition due by student
• Accounts Payable functions – such as analyzing specific bills and transactions)
• Accounts Receivable functions – such as corresponding with customers and donors to resolve billing concerns
• Credit Card transactions follow up
• Other accounting duties as required


• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Knowledge of accounting principles
• Detail oriented and organized
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated and able to take ownership of projects and tasks
• Proficiency with all programs in the Microsoft Office package
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics a plus
