POSITION SUMMARY: Teach NYS, a project of the Orthodox Union Advocacy Center, helps day schools and yeshivas understand all available government-funded programs, maximize their use of them, and administer them in the most efficient way. Teach NYS is dedicated to making day school education sustainable; one arm of the department advocates in Albany and locally for more funding, and the other arm helps schools maximize all available funding.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Write and edit content; manage designers
  • Manage and implement marketing of conference calls, webinars, school meetings/annual School Leaders Conference
  • Draft and lay-out weekly email announcements sent to schools and lay leadership
  • Work with Government Services technicians to frame and communicate successes to a broad audience, devising strategies to do so
  • Devise and execute strategies to keep donors and the leaders abreast of government services activities
  • In collaboration with Program Specialists, create annual personalized reports to be presented to schools and their boards
  • Update and manage contact lists
  • Other pertinent duties as assigned by the Director of State political affairs

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 3-5 years professional experience; community relations, public policy, or Jewish day school experience preferred
  • The following professional skills are required: excellence in writing, organization, strategic thinking, time management, and interpersonal communication
  • Ability to self- motivate, prioritize, work independently and complete multiple assignments with attention to detail in fast paced, rapidly changing environment
