Position Summary: The Program and Events Coordinator will work under the direct supervision of Chapter Director to help develop, enhance, and promote Yachad programs and services, and to plan and execute events that promote inclusion and serve individuals with developmental disabilities.


Job Responsibilities:

Program Coordination:

  • Develops, plans, and implements weekly and seasonal inclusive programming
  • Works with Director to coordinate and run a few Shabbatons, including Family Shabbaton
  • Coordinates and maintains standards of excellence for programs
  • Ensures safety and well-being of Yachad members
  • Oversees the intake and membership process, including recruitment
  • Management of High School Leadership Board, including promoting, recruiting teens in local high schools, arranging and participating in meetings, involving teens in planning
  • Recruitment of teens and advisors for programs and events
  • Responsible for maintaining database, including participants enrolled in programs and other related data, along with accompanying administrative tasks
  • Cultivate relationships with community leaders to create new programming and partnership opportunities


Program Development:

With the supervision and  strategic plan of Chapter Director:

  • Help with outreach and PR/Marketing efforts in the region
  • Increase Yachad awareness in the community at large and locate new communities and schools to grow into and service
  • Cultivate new relationships and maintain affiliations with community leaders to create new programming and partnership opportunities
  • Help to reach out to new communities and recruit for Family Shabbaton


Job Qualifications

  • Experience with individuals with disabilities
  • Excellent with written and oral communication, and great interpersonal skills
  • Multi-tasker with great time management skills, organized and detail oriented
  • Programming experience ideal
  • Computer skills and proficiency with programs such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and all platforms of social media
  • Experience working with teens preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred



This is a part-time position, with some hours required during the business day and other hours required outside of the typical business day (meetings, events, shabbatons, etc.); some evenings and Sundays required on a monthly basis. The position requires one trip to the NY area annually and some local travel.
