The Regional Director of Greater Washington NCSY is responsible to achieve the
objectives of the Atlantic Seaboard Region of NCSY as defined by the Executive Director within the Greater Washington metropolitan area. The Regional Director is the local NCSY leader responsible for promoting greater Torah observance and Jewish engagement to local youth.

The Regional Director requires personal, organizational, and leadership skills and
experience to make decisions, communicate objectives, delegate authority, guide and
excite community youth. The position requires diverse activity with varying types and
levels of responsibility to ensure a successful youth program, and promote greater
commitment to Torah Judaism. The position requires the engagement of the community, which includes but is not limited to the parents of NCSY participants, NCSY lay leadership, community Rabbis, institutional heads, and other community stakeholders.

The Regional Director of Greater Washington NCSY reports to the executive director or their designated appointee.

Vision and planning
● Work with the Executive Director to develop, articulate and promote a vision for the Greater
Washington area in consultation from key stakeholders including teens, parents, local lay
leaders, professional staff, Jewish community leaders, and the Atlantic Seaboard NCSY regional staff.
● Train, manage and empower the local professional and volunteer team to flourish and perform, manage, set program goals, develop a comprehensive program calendar.
Programming
● Establish, with professional staff and lay leaders, annual program goals geared to respond to NCSY’s agenda of teen engagement in Greater Washington.
● Develop in partnership with staff and NCSYers a comprehensive calendar of programming that meets the interests of the different constituencies of Jewish youth, and if strategically relevant, families, from the Greater Washington area.
● Further levels of teen involvement among NCSYers and prospects through regular
correspondence and contacts in person, by telephone, social media, alone and in
conjunction with regional and advisory staff.
● Run the local “Shabbat and Yom Tov” home for teens to experience a traditional Shabbat and Yom Tov.
● Actively participate in planning programming aspects of Regional Shabbatonim, as a senior staff member.
● Deliver on teen recruiting targets for the Greater Washington area in regards to local, regional, and national NCSY programs including summer programs.
Relationships
● Manage all aspects of local teen relationships; including cultivation, social engagement, mentoring, and stewarding growth.
● Cultivate warm relationships with parents of teens who participate in NCSY programming.
● Engage and oversee the involvement of volunteer staff from local and regional universities as teen mentors (a.k.a. Advisors).
● Manage primary relationships with community partners such as schools, synagogues, JCC, Public schools.
Organizational management
● Plan and maintain a city budget with the Executive Director.
● Work with the Executive Director to develop a fundraising and income strategy so that chapter finances are covered.
● Maintain the teen database with contact information for current teens and prospects, including event and participation information.
● Work with the regional office to accurately maintain parent and donor database with contact information and giving histories. ,
Development
● Work with the Regional Director to set resource development goals and implement a strategic approach to financial resource development to fund and enhance the operations of Greater Washington.
