STEM Associate, part-time

Teach Coalition, a division of the OU, was founded in 2013 to solve the tuition crisis in nonpublic schools. The part-time STEM Associate position falls within Teach Coalition’s Government Maximization department, which works directly with schools to help them fill out government applications and claim funding from government programs.

The STEM associate will work mainly on two funding programs related to STEM, both spearheaded by Teach Coalition, and this role is critical to help these programs both succeed and grow.

•New Jersey STEM program in which the NJ Department of Education pays public school teachers to teach STEM subjects in nonpublic schools during the teachers’ off hours.

•New York STEM program in which nonpublic schools are reimbursed by the NYS Education Department for a portion of the salaries of their qualified STEM teachers.

The position is part-time, and is roughly 20 hours per week, and up to ~30hoursper week during busy months. There is long-term potential to become a full-time, benefitted position, with growth opportunities. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.

There are combined remote/in-office requirements at the Teaneck, NJ office.

 

Responsibilities

•Guiding schools and assisting them with application processes.

•Collecting documentation and information from schools for applications.

•Reviewing schools’ applications and paperwork, and providing detailed feedback

.•Outreach and developing relationships with non public schools.

•Outreach to public school teachers, public school staff, and other entities.

•Tracking progress of all projects and status of applications.

•Research and data collection/compilation.

•Preparing communications, as necessary.

•Other projects within the department, as necessary.

•Very professional and quickly develops rapport.

•Extreme attention to detail and highly organized.

•Professional writing skills and moderate Excel skills.

•College degree and 3-5 years of experience that cultivated the experience to succeed in this role.

•Nonpublic school experience a plus, as are advanced excel skills.
