The OU Impact Accelerator: 

The OU Impact Accelerator addresses challenges within the Orthodox community by advancing innovative and impactful nonprofits. We need institutions to be impactful, efficient, and sustainable so that we can have a flourishing and healthy Jewish community. We strive to foster an ecosystem where Jewish nonprofits thrive, by offering them essential resources and networking opportunities. Since 2018, we’ve been driving this mission forward through advancing a select group of startup nonprofits, by providing them with tailored support, education, mentorship, and a grant. Recognizing the diverse needs of Jewish nonprofits at every stage of development and leveraging the OU’s network, reach, and influence, we’re dedicated to expanding our efforts as a department to have the opportunity to reach and impact more organizations and the larger Jewish communal infrastructure. 

As we grow, the OU Impact Accelerator will include a cohort model with current and alumni ventures, community programming, and ongoing lay leader engagement. 

 

What You’ll Do : 
The Program and Operation Associate will help advance the mission of the OU Impact Accelerator.  

The Associate will assist and independently manage projects related to all aspects of the Impact Accelerator. The Associate will help strategize for the startup program and work closely with the selected ventures and alumni community as well as help build out future programs for the Impact Accelerator. 

 

 Goals:   

  • Work with Director to ensure a successful implementation for the OU Impact Accelerator Cohort: selection, education, and program completion.    
  • Collaborate with Director to further develop and scale the OU Impact Accelerator, and take on a leading role in some projects. 
  • Focus on strategy, logistics, evaluation, and event planning and execution. 
  • Communicate with stakeholders both internal OU as well as external lay leaders and nonprofit professionals.
     

Essential Functions:  

  • Communication: Communicate with both internal and external stakeholders (OU professionals, lay leaders, nonprofit founders, nonprofit professionals, cohort alumni) 
  • Administrative: Calendar upkeep and communication for all Accelerator events. 
  • Workflows: Create clear and concise processes for all Accelerator events and processes including cohort workshops, summits, alumni programming, community workshops, etc. 
  • Event Planning: Manage all Accelerator events – invites, ordering, scheduling, etc. 
  • Strategic Processing: Work with the Director to strategize on the growth and direction of the Accelerator  
  • Accelerator Cohort: Work on every aspect of the cohort experience – selection, education, program completion, mentorship, coaching, events, and more. 
  • Evaluation: help design Accelerator evaluation and metrics for impact. Evaluate the effectiveness of the OU Accelerator cohort program.    
  • Alumni Community: Connect with Accelerator alumni and plan advanced learning and programming for them.   
  • Inspiration: further develop the external presence for the Accelerator, including press, media, events, and more.      
  • Strategize and implement updated Accelerator programs, as it relates to greater OU priorities and other departments. Work with other departments and initiatives that relate to creativity, ingenuity, and entrepreneurship.

You have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years work experience, startup or innovative work experience preferred   
  • Experience with project management 
  • Experience with self-starting and being resourceful, “learning the ropes” through exploration   
  • Quantitative background and/or interest in measuring impact and data   

 

Salary and Benefits:  

The salary range for this position is between $55,000 and $65,000, commensurate with experience.
